Nestled in a lush tropical garden overlooking the Bay of Islands, Gardenia House provides comfort with a touch of class. The house cascades down the hillside in a series of levels each with stunning sea views and offers peace and seclusion. The interior is crafted from native woods and vaulted stained glass windows fill the rooms with warm natural light

The kitchen is fully equipped with a wide range of crockery and cutlery and the conservatory makes a perfect breakfast nook. Celebrate with friends in the formal dining room, curl up in the living room and watch a little Sky television, or have a barbeque and a few drinks on the veranda while watching the sunset over the sea. Air conditioning keeps the summer heat at bay and in the winter there is central heating, and a traditional open fire.

Long Beach is five minutes drive away if you like to swim or surf. Sailing a yacht to the outer islands is an unforgettable experience and can be arranged at Russell wharf, which is an easy 5 minute stroll.
Relive Russell’s maritime history during a day aboard the tall ship R Tucker Thompson that calls at the wharf most mornings and offers the chance to sail around the Bay of Islands. You can swim with dolphins, play golf, go wine tasting, ride a jet boat, go scuba diving, game fishing, parasail or take a leisurely ferry over to Paihia. There are a variety of cafes, restaurants and galleries here for you to enjoy.

Thank you again for arranging our accommodation in Russell – we loved the house & had such a fabulous holiday. It really was so special.
Be assured we will pass your details on to any of our family & friends from Australia who are planning a trip to the Bay of Islands. We couldn’t have been more thrilled with our time there.
Many thanks again for all your help Lesley.
Gardenia House was an amazing place to stay - especially for a family reunion which is what we hired it for. Plenty of space, wonderful interior, beautiful views. Our family thought the grandeur of Gardenia House very memorable for our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebrations. The Cream Trip around the Bay of Islands was absolutely incredible and the weather was perfect. A day trip not to be missed.
Most helpful, very friendly, informative and a pleasure to deal with. Would be great if more people could be like her, a lovely lady.
Please extend my warm thanks to Lesley. The house was beautiful and in an excellent location. Lesley ensured we settled in quickly and was happy to give us local advice. All e-mails and phone messages were dealt with quickly and I always received a reply - ggod communications is key.
