Welcome to our Bed and Breakfast - Sometimes we discover a precious place that touches the senses so that it becomes a treasured memory.
Our luxury Bed and Breakfast will provide you with the setting in which to appreciate the magic of this picturesque village and its unique heritage.
Beautiful gardens captivate you from every room in this gracious home. Located in the centre of the village we are just steps from restaurants and activities. Scrumptious breakfasts are served whenever it suits you.
Historic Russell, with its museum and craft shops, offers natural history, nature walks and four beautiful beaches.
The beautiful old bungalow was recently rebuilt to include two en-suite bedrooms for guests. Surrounded by park-like gardens, it provides peace and tranquillity. Arapohue means 'A pathway or a Valley of Flowers'.
Originally the home of the local butcher back in 1880, the homestead has been part of the Russell scene for over 125 years, and has lost none of it's original grace. Bradley and Vivienne love the garden and keep it in great shape. Locals and tourists alike stop to smell the roses that grow over the white picket fence, and admire the lavender along the driveway.
Location - Only 200 meters from Russell Beach, it is an easy leisurely level walk to all the fine restaurants and coffee houses. A short walk the other way takes you to Long Beach, our long white sandy beach, which is great for a swimming towel and a good book on a lazy afternoon to while away the sunny hours.
The house is smoke free and we have no pets or children living at home. We can organize any trips for you, and have many brochures and ideas to help make your stay in Russell interesting and enjoyable.
Your Hosts - Vivienne & Bradley Morrison have been operating the Bed & Breakfast since early 2005.
Bradley was a successful real estate agent for 20 years in Auckland before coming to Russell. Here he bought an old run-down bungalow, and set about restoring it, eventually turning it into the beautiful home it is today.
Vivienne ran a B & B in Russell for many years, and in 2002 got married to Bradley. Together we finished restoring Arapohue House, and planned the new garden.
