The Gables Waterfront Apartment is housed in a lovingly restored historic building on the Russell foreshore. Built on whalebone foundations by Joseph England, a shoemaker, in 1847
its pitsawn kauri walls could tell a hundred stories. 
 
The luxuriously appointed apartment is 2 storied, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. 'Reach out and touch the water' views of the bay to Waitangi and Paihia. Glorious sunsets, yachting, fishing and boat activity, plunging gannets and the occasional dolphin are just a few reasons to enjoy the historic township of Russell. The apartment has its own private courtyard entrance. The living, dining and kitchen areas open through french doors onto the balcony terrace, the perfect place for morning coffee or an aperitif before dinner.   
 
Fully furnished with all new appliances, the well equipped kitchen would please any keen chef eager to experiment with the wonderful local seafood and produce. For in housepampering the Gables Restaurant chefs would be happy to cook for you and your guestsin the apartment, just arrange this with management in advance. The Gables Restaurant isNo 1 on Trip Advisor for Northland and provides superb dining at your doorstep! Bookings are strongly recommended to ensure you savour a wonderful experience – you won't want to miss out… 
 
The large loft bedroom enjoys beautiful views from the kingsize bed, the second bedroom
features an original brick chimney feature with 2 single beds which can be zipped together to make a super-king bed. Character and charm abound in this stunningly appointed apartment.
 
Swimming right outside on the waterfront beach or take a short stroll over the hill to beautiful Long Beach. 
 
Please note: For your comfort the apartment is pet free and is a non-smoking property. The apartment is not suitable for children under the age of 10 years.

Minimum stay:Christmas/New Year 19 Dec – 9 Jan minimum 7-night stay at all times. Shorter stays by negotiation based on spaces between existing bookings and last minute requests. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Access:After 3pm on the day of arrival – departure – 10am. Negotiable if other parties are not arriving or departing the same day. All arrivals after 8pm in the evening will incur a late arrival fee of $75.00.

An absolutely stunning holiday apartment recently refurbished to a very high standard and in the centre of life on the Russell waterfront. The apartment is extremely comfortable, furnished tastefully and equipped with all that is necessary for holiday makers. The icing on the cake is the accessibility to the village, the fantastic fine food restaurant downstairs (The Gables) and the stunning views from the windows overlooking the waterfront. We enjoyed our stay at this venue and look forward to our next visit when we will stay even longer! Many thanks to the Proprietors who made us feel very welcome during our stay.
