For some the concept of staying in a private holiday home is a new one, which at times needs some explanation. Below we to hope to answer some of the questions you may have when considering a holiday home in the Bay of Islands.

 

Staying in a private holiday home offers, self catering, complete privacy, flexibility and more space in which to relax and enjoy your chosen destination in your own timeframe.

Our nightly rates generally include: a personal meet and greet, exclusive use of the holiday home and are GST inclusive.

Yes, every booking will be charged a $75 Booking Fee.

Yes, all the necessary cleaning items and basic household items such as starter toilet rolls (3 per bathroom), washing up liquid, washing powder, oil, salt, pepper are included.

Yes, the cost is $40 per person. This covers pre-making of beds prior to arrival, sheets, pillow slips, towels, bath mats, guest/hand towels and tea towels.

Some houses have the linen and towel hire included in the nightly rate, please check the property overview details.

Daily servicing, departure clean, childcare, a full pantry provisioning service, portable cots, high chairs, stair gates, can be provided at an additional cost.

Most of our properties, unless specified at the time of booking, have wireless or wired internet access, cell phone coverage, Sky TV, private laundry facilities and on/off street or garage parking.  A number of our luxury and superior holiday homes have pools and spas.

*Please note: There is an additional charge for the use of the spa pool of $85.00 per stay. We change the water after each guest’s stay to ensure that hygiene levels are kept to the highest possible standard.

Our check in time is usually 3pm and check out usually between 9.30am - 10am. Wherever possible we will certainly try to accommodate earlier and later check in and out times, but this may not always be possible in the busier periods.

A complete in-house compendium is provided in each holiday home. The compendium contains detailed instructions on appliances as well as the entertainment systems, pools and spas. Useful local information is also included, such as a list of local restaurants, phone numbers for a doctor, a dentist and police, as well as information on local activities.

The deposit required to confirm your booking is 50% and must be paid within 48 hours of your request to confirm the booking. 

The balance payment is the outstanding 50% of your booking. The balance payment is due 60 days prior to your arrival as per our terms and conditions.

Cancelation within 60 days of arrival date: 30% forfeit of the total booking price.

Cancelation within 30 days of arrival date: 100% forfeit of the total booking price.

There is no mains water reticulation in the Russell area. We collect rainwater in storage tanks, it does take a lot of rain drops to fill the tank! The water is then pumped into the house by the water pump, please keep your water usage to a minimum.

Please refrain from allowing friends and family who are not staying from using the facilities. Do not leave taps running unattended. If you run out of water, contact us on any of the numbers below.

During a power outage you will have no water as the pump will not operate without power! Outages of power are not common however they do occur, please be patient once the power is restored your pump will function again.
