Bay of Holiday Homes, seek to provide a safe environment for all guests, members of the public and our valued staff members.

We have a New Zealand Government approved Covid Tracer App in all of our holiday homes for you to safely register your stay.

We are open and operating during COVID. We are following advice from the Ministry of Health and taking extra precautions to ensure that we are doing everything in our power to reduce the impact of COVID and to provide a healthy and safe environment.

These are the current practices we have in place to minimise the risk of contamination:

  • Our team have been briefed extensively on the situation and have been advised of the most appropriate sanitising products and methods to use in our homes.
  • All surfaces in our homes are sanitised prior to any of our guests entering the homes.
  • New gloves are worn by all servicing and maintenance staff when entering each holiday home.
  • All incoming guests are required to sign a Health Declaration Form prior to their arrival to assist us to determine whether they are high risk guests.
  • All surfaces in our office that come in contact with human hands are being sanitised regularly throughout the day.
  • Finally, face to face interaction between staff and guests has been eliminated. We have adopted contactless check in and check out procedures, information on these procedures will be provided in your confirmation email.

COVID-19 Travel Restriction affected Bookings for Domestic Guests – Credit Offer

All bookings for domestic guests will be looked at on a case by case basis. This offer is made available when travel is prevented by COVID-19 or similar New Zealand government enforced restrictions that prevent guests from attending their booking with us. In these circumstances, the full value of the booking is offered as a credit towards a future booking on the following bases:

  • The new stay is to be completed within 6-months of the original bookings departure date,
  • New stay dates will be subject to the availability of the originally booked property (some flexibility may be required in respect of new date selection),
  • Where the originally booked property is not reasonably available for the foreseeable future the credit offer will be extended for use at other selected Bay of Islands Holiday Homes managed properties,
  • A seasonal rate increase may apply if dates are moved to a higher rate season,
  • Any unused portion of the credit is non-refundable,
  • Standard terms and conditions apply to the new booking,
  • Facilitation of this credit offer will be provided free of any additional administration fees.

COVID-19 Travel Restriction affected Bookings for International Guests 

All bookings for international guests will be looked at on a case by case basis. If your party is unable to enter the country due to a NZ Government Border Closure that affects your international travel dates within 14 days of your arrival a FULL REFUND will be offered less any administration and credit card fees. 
We are also happy to offer a credit should you wish to keep your booking for future dates;
  • The new stay is to be completed within 12-months of the original bookings departure date,
  • New stay dates will be subject to the availability of the originally booked property (some flexibility may be required in respect of new date selection),
  • Where the originally booked property is not reasonably available for the foreseeable future the credit offer will be extended for use at other selected Bay of Islands Holiday Homes managed properties,
  • A seasonal rate increase may apply if dates are moved to a higher rate season,
  • Any unused portion of the credit is non-refundable,
  • Standard terms and conditions apply to the new booking,
  • Facilitation of this credit offer will be provided free of any additional administration fees.
Booking rates vary between seasons, and any additional cost accrued due to this will be the guest’s responsibility.  For bookings made through an external Online Travel Agent or Booking portal, the credit amount will be less than the portal commission. If you have booked through an external OTA/Booking portal the credit amount will be less the portal commission.
Please contact us as early as possible to request this offer. Requests may be declined where Bay of Islands Holiday Homes is not notified of your inability to travel within a reasonable timeframe of this becoming known.
