Cook's Cottage is a modern Cottage, set in the grounds of a number of cottages and located in the beautiful Bay of Islands - only a 3.5 hour drive from Auckland. Located in the heart of Russell village, Cook's Cottage is only a short stroll from the waterfront, restaurants and cafes and 2 beaches.

The cottage has been built from a traditional timber weatherboard. The interior features solid timber floors in the living area, quality carpet in the upstairs area, raked ceilings and is fully appointed to a very high standard.

On the ground floor, there is an open plan lounge and dining area, both flow out onto a terrace that captures the morning sun - a great place to have breakfast and watch the world go by...

There is a fully equipped kitchen, under-bench oven and hob, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, a TV, ample seating for 8 guests. There is also a laundry with washing machine and dryer for guest use and a powder room with toilet and vanity.  

Bedroom description:  1 superking, 2 queen and 2 single beds.

The upstairs area has 3 bedrooms - the master bedroom has a queen bed and has an attached en-suite (walk-in shower, toilet and vanity), bedroom 2 has a queen bed, bedroom 3 has 2 single beds. The main bedroom downstairs has a superking bed and an ensuite.

*For smaller groups wanting to use extra rooms, these can be made available on request for an additional charge.

The main bathroom has a shower over bath, toilet and vanity.

We offer complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, SKY TV with access to NETFLIX (using your own login and password details), mini-stereo system, and quality linen and towels. Parking for 2 cars. "FREE Wireless Broadband" 

Cook's Cottage enjoys the full use of communal areas at the complex, from the in-ground swimming pool, spa and BBQ facilities and children's playground.

Special Conditions

  • There are two dedicated car parking spaces allocated to your cottage 15A & 15B. If you are bringing a boat, you will need to park in the boat parking at the rear of the property – this is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you do have a boat and have 2 cars and the boat parking is full, you will need to park the boat in the cottage’s dedicated car park and the other car on the street. We highly recommend that you do not leave valuable/expensive equipment in the boat.
  • This property is priced based on the number of bedrooms booked, allowing smaller groups to enjoy the home at a reduced rate.
  • Please select the number of bedrooms required at booking and advise your preferred bedding configuration. If not specified, a standard setup will be prepared. Unused rooms will be locked; you will still have exclusive use of the property.
  • Cleaning and linen are charged based on the number of bedrooms you book.
  • For your comfort, the house is pet-free and is a non-smoking property.
  • High chair and porta cot hire are available on request ($25 for a high chair or porta cot per stay, including linen or $40 for both).
  • Booking fee is $100 and a 3.5% credit card fee applies.
  • No gathering/parties or unauthorised/additional persons staying at the property. This will breach the rental conditions and you may be asked to depart the property. Our general Terms & Conditions apply.

We had a fabulous long weekend stay at Russell Cottages in the Cooks Cottage. Everything was clean and very well furnished. The pool was amazing (great heated temperature). The beds were very comfortable. Donna was amazing to deal with, we left a watch on departure by accident and Donna kindly went back to get it and couriered it back to us promptly. We will definitely stay here again soon and would highly recommend.

A lovely home located right in the heart of Russell. It was clean, comfortable, had all the facilities and equipment that we needed and was so easy to walk everywhere. The pool and BBQ allowed us to have lovely family gatherings and the outdoor area was perfect for catching the morning sun. I was also very appreciative that all the provided cleaning equipment was natural and without chemicals. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
